My professional journey began while I was in college pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. I had the intention of becoming a Physical Therapist so I began working as a Physical Therapy Tech. I observed how many people were being discharged from PT because their symptoms were somewhat better or because their range of motion reached some arbitrary number. I knew intuitively these people were not completely fixed and needed much more if they wanted to return to any level of longterm orthopedic wellbeing!

After working in the physical therapy environment for a while and not being satisfied with what was happing, I decided to change paths and move into personal training. I soon saw the gym flooded with people who had been discharged from PT under similar criteria I had seen working in the PT clinic. These people came to the gym with good intentions of exercising to get back to a level of fitness they had before their injury, but in reality were slowly damaging their bodies by not knowing which exercises were beneficial and which ones were harmful. I quickly realized there was a definite need for a professional in the gym setting who had the knowledge and skills to help guide these people back to health and fitness by helping them restore proper movement which would ultimately improve their function, their fitness, and prevent them from creating orthopedic damage!

Once I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, I decided to get licensed as a Massage Therapist. This would give me the ability to use my hands as therapeutic tools for healing of the body. Once I became a Licensed Massage Therapist I started traveling all over the country to learn as many manual therapy and exercise techniques as I could from the best orthopedic physical therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, and exercise specialists I could find. Since then I have created a unique set of skills that I have been able to successfully use with a wide array of different clients, helping each one in their pursuit of pain-free living!
